Fail! --- eF minus!

Well yesterday I failed the writing test -- 100%.

And I thought I had discovered the formula.

The story: An Australian 'Foreign Editor' has suggested that the American president, Mr George Bush, will be remembered as "Great" (Greg Sheridan -- see: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20407585-25377,00.html).

Well I sent in a 'well crafted' entry to the letters/blogg column of Mr Matt Price (the very same who a few weeks ago was shown up on ABC's TV Insiders show as not grasping the fundamentals of Australian detention laws), and zippo got through. Failed.

Now I'm not anti-American per sec , but I am anti idiot. So, I felt the ego-need too make a comment. Just too easy a target for this aspirant (who his son quaintly calls the "Internet Warrior") to miss. And of course, in my developing confidence I forgot to save my 'input' copy. So I'll just have to record it as "Blah… art in" ===> "Blank out".

So I took action:

1) I wrote to a columnist of note and wit and explain my plight, along with a link to another 'story' that he apparently did not know about - the Iran-$US link. (see http://www.moneyfiles.org/deruiter01.html) with an interesting plausible theory on how the real game is about keeping the oil business in $US. One of his recent articles touched on a common subject. He had not heard of Rudo de Ruijter (rudoderuijter@wanadoo.nl) so I await with interest any future comment.

I said:

"...anyway, I am now recovering from a complete 100% rejection of a semi-humorous caustic "letter" to the Matt Price blogg item that invites comment on Greg Sheridan's view that Bush will be recorded as a great president. see: http://blogs.theaustralian.news.com.au/mattprice/index.php/theaustralian/comments/who_hails_bush_the_great

I thought I had been improving, but got an "eF" on this one ... and I did not keep a copy! Ahhh, lost art. The pain. Apart from the verbiage - my main point was the moment for history to remember was/is young George W failing the 6-minute leadership test in primary school while another rich man's son (allegedly) bombs the crap out of the modern world's power symbols. And not the gay crutch hugging airforce jump suit where he struts out like some cross between a peacock and a turkey having conquered Iraq. There are quite a few responses to this topic (and from overseas -- if one believes the addresses etc). There are some strange people out there. Cheers …”

2) Then I thought, “stuff it” … I will try the media-machine again, especially after I had scanned the many replies from round the world. So, noting two comments that engaged me I submitted this (with input saved this time):

"The 'Bloody American of Nashville' (TN, USA) paints a dark and desperate future for the USA. Cheer up old chap. Many outside your walls understand your frustration and plight. America is not a death sentence, just a life behind bars, cars & pop-corn. Just fix your electoral voting system so the majority wins; punch-cards went out in the 1970’s along with flairs.

Most people, even those ‘enemies’ of your psychotic leadership culture from Mars, would rather you all just settle down peacefully and watch the movies. So, you wish to emigrate? You would be most welcome here I assume, but your anti-Bush views might need our prime minister’s approval for our democracy. But if Washington agrees I am sure he’ll tick the box. Unlike your wise two-term limit, our Mr Howard can stay forever, even beyond the grave if they can link him up. But you had better start learning “Australian English” to pass the new test. Try this cheer for starters: Who’s the greatest?” – “George of the USA!”.

I say: “Go, George, Go!” … and shut the door after you. Alas, you will be remembered vaguely as that dope who failed the 6-minute leadership test in primary school – reading a goat story, as someone else has pointed out. Good move, I suspect you’ll be meeting a few in the next life, down under."

And I should have added: "You won't be alone, there are plenty of other 'Greats' there before you".

Media system output?
To be confirmed in due course.
